Practicing
Wow...
My knees hurt...lol. We had puppet practice tonight...our LAST dress rehersal...to tell you the truth, i'm kinda nervous...I mean why in the world should i be nervous...were just performing in front of around 400 3rd-6th grade kids...and all their leaders...and all the camp leaders...i mean why in the world should i be nervous =/ lol
Yeah...so the reason my knees hurt is because i have to be on my knees with a puppets legs strapped to my knees and walk around...yeah and we've been practicing on carpet...and were going to be performing on a stage..most likely wooden...
ok I think i'm done complaining
I really am excitied though...I love my Polka Dot skit...even if i look DORKY [*ahem* Kristen *ahem*]

Polka Dot
"HEE HEE HEE! did i hear a crwy for help?"
As i mentioned before, our Puppet Krew is performing at Children's camp, and i'm really excited. One Skit [its a human skit] is about a super hero named....da da da DA....POLKA DOT!! And guess who plays her....yep me =) . Polka Dot dresses in polka dots head to toe[mismatched of course], and her theme music is....Polka music![i have to dance like Steve Urkel =P] lol She's about 5 years old and she adores Plaidman...err Pwaidman =P [yet another human skit that is earlier in the show] "He's my mentor you know!" Anyway i love doing human skits and i think this is going to be fun. She of course can't say her R's and L's...[which for me sometimes sounds like a broklyn accent =P]Whenever we perform, i'll get some pics of me in my costume and post them later...
One of my fav lines is when she's describing why she's wearing polka dots and what they do for her:
"I'm like one of those big fishies with spots all over their bodies, and when predators come their like 'EEEK A MAMMOTH FISHY!!!' cause you know, nobody likes a mammoth fishy"
=P

Puppets and such
In a few weeks our puppet group is performing at Children's Camp, part of the show is in blacklight which is always fun. One of the ladies that are in charge of this group is the photographer that I'm working for. She's taking pictures at the camp, so we both get to go to the camp all week, and stay in a hotel. So I'm pretty excited. =D

THEA
I just realized I never posted about the THEA! Well i haven't gotten my test results yet, [I'm hoping that it will come today seeing as it's three days past the two week mark] but if you were praying for me while i was taking the test, I just want to say thank you! I was worried about being overwhelmed and that i wont "be shaking so much that I can't hold my pencil =P". Well thanks to the many prayers others and myself had prayed, I felt like i had done it a thousand times before! I wasn't in the least bit nervous, i felt very confident, and if i shook it was just from the cold room =P! If i didn't know an answer usually i would get overwhelmed and i would feel stupid, but instead of allowing those feelings to seep in, I prayed for God to show me the answer, because he knows the answer. It was amazing!
Thanks again to all who prayed,
I think I'm gonna go check the mail now...hopefully my results are in there =P

Tests and Aliens
Tomorrow I am going to take the THEA [Texas Higher Education Assessment] test, and I'm very nervous! Whenever I get really nervous I usually shake or get really cold, so I'm praying like crazy that I'll be able to concentrate, and to be calm, so that I won't be shaking so much that I can't hold my pencil =P
After I take the test I'm going to a thing at my church called Disciple Now. It's kind of like a big lock-in from Saturday and 10am to Sunday night. So at least I have something to look forward to after the test, even though I'm gonna be late because of it. The theme for disciple now this year is "Alien Rising". We're gonna be learning about how we as Christians should be 'aliens' to the people and things of this world, we should stand out for Christ. Anyway I'm really excited! =D
Please pray for me! I'll blog results later =)

The Grapes of Wrath Essay
In the beginning of the chapter the turtle is described moving slowly, but with confidence, toward a road, which he is determined to cross. The turtle comes across a bump, which would likely be very hard to climb, but with great perseverance sets to climb over it. He struggles for a while, often getting stuck for a moment, before he finally reaches the other side. The comparison to the turtle and the migrants in this instance is that they began their journey to California, knowing of the great “bump” they would have to climb: lack of money. But they pressed on, and through many troubles and problems, somehow found a way there.
As the turtle continues on, a car makes it’s way down the road toward him. The car, slightly startled, moves so as to not hit the turtle. Confused, the car continues down the road, but now with more caution. Then a second car heads toward the turtle, but when seeing it in the road, the driver is outraged and he swerves, aiming to hit the turtle. The first car represents the travelers starting out to California. The Californians at first left them alone but they began to grow suspicious at the rapidly growing number of migrants. Then, as the second car reflects, they grew outraged at the amount of people coming in taking away their jobs, and crowding up the state. Hatred formed inside the hearts of the Californians toward the migrants, and they did everything they could think of to get rid of them.
When the second car had swerved to hit the turtle, it only hit the edge of its shell, the impact of which caused the turtle to fly back to the side of the road where he had began. The turtle landed on it’s back side, and after a few moments of hiding, he cautiously stuck his head and legs out. He began scrambling for something to pull him over. Finally he found a piece of quartz and, with some difficulty, pulled himself upright again. He began to head toward the road again with the same determination. The migrants were hurt by the terrible hatred and actions sent toward them, but they kept on going, they kept on fighting, and they kept on hoping.

Guitar
As i type i realize that my fingers are sore from pressing against guitar strings. I just recently started playing guitar in the newly created worship band at church, and every time i play or practice, i ask myself the same question: How long will it take for my fingers to grow calluses so that i can play guitar with ease?!?! I mean I got the darn thing at Christmas! =P But I suppose it's just another test against my patience, which is very short i might add.
Although I'm not really complaining because i love taking part in the worship!

ahem....new...template...
Yes, i re-did my blog template AGAIN! I think I might have an addiction =P
I think I change my template more than i post...wait scratch that i KNOW i change it more that i post! lol
Well i suppose its good practice, since i think im seriously considering a career in graphic design. They're not the best i can do, since the program i have messes up...alot! So i try to do them in a hurry before a window pops up saying, "error, must close program" and i lose all that i had. It's quite frustrating lol. i guess I'm ranting, although the program was free, so i guess i'm happy with what it gives me. =P

Christmas
I hope you all had a great Christmas! I know I did! My Brother and Sister in law came to visit the week before, which was a blast! At times I even dreaded Christmas' coming, because it meant that they would no longer be here =P .
I had a clothes and accessories Christmas [which was greatly needed], except for one present, which was a new puppet [Pictures coming soon]. I am still searching for a name and personality for her, but when it is decided she will be used often in my churches’ Children’s Church Ministry [Check out it’s newly created blog here! Which happens to be created by my mom =P]. The ministry is called “King’s Kids” and we who volunteer to help are called “Kings Krew”. Before now, I had only one puppet to call my own[picture below], who is none other than Princess Annie Daynow [get it? =P] . Princess Annie is a self-absorbed, Princess of the King, who rarely ever understands the lessons we learn in King’s Kids.
If an Idea for a name or personality comes to you when you see my new puppet’s picture, please share! =P
